At NCWA our mission is three-fold: 1. Develop our writing skills. Fiction, non-fiction, magazine articles, devotionals, Web sites ... whatever we write, we want to do it with excellence. 2. Teach others. We offer critique, encouragement, networking, and training for writers of all experience levels. 3. Encourage each other to love God more deeply and know Him more fully. We strive to please Him with our prose, but our measure of success in the end is if we've made God more famous through our prose. We believe the story of life is not about us, but about Him. Our members come from all over the Puget Sound area and range in age from teens to octogenarians. Whether you're a veteran or are exploring the arena of writing for the first time, you'll fit right in. We'd love to have you join us.

RENEWAL CONFERENCE UPDATE Come One, Come All to the annual NCWA Renewal Writers Conference! Westminster Chapel, Bellevue, WA, May 31-June 1, 2019. Our BIG News this year is the launch of the Frank Peretti Award for Excellence in Speculative Fiction. Thirty years have slipped by since Mr. Peretti's Darkness novels -- This Present Darkness and Piercing The Darkness -- were released to the world. Those provocative works inspired a new genre in the ranks of Christian writing that continues to build and expand today. FRANK PERETTI WILL JOIN US AT RENEWAL TO PRESENT THE FIRST AWARD ON JUNE 1ST. He will be available to greet conferees and share some thoughts about our past, present and future roles in the writing realm. As James L. Rubart, our keynote speaker, and Frank Peretti are both Northwest Native Sons, it's a unique privilege to honor Mr. Peretti’s contribution to our region's writing community -- both Christian and general market -- as well as trace the sinuous paths of both author's careers. Take the leap and join the celebration! MORE RENEWAL NEWS: Jennifer Dornbush, author and screenwriter of the recent movie release, God Bless The Broken Road, brings us Screenwriting 101.
